Pioneering Farmer Data Input Form

General information about this Questionnaire and your participation

We the Founding Farmers of EARA thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to contribute to this Pilot Program.

A new CAP by farmers for farmers is the only way! For drastic debureacratization, long-term planning security and fair & simple payments.

This pilot programme & proof-of-concept study will build the evidence of the payment design of a future CAP, as proposed in EARA’s Policy Paper. The project aims at the comparison of the agro-economic & ecological performance of least 150 pioneering farmers from diverse EU contexts, with their regional average.

“Pioneering” refers to farmers from all EU contexts: that includes ages, ecosystems and farm types (like i.e. big arable farms practising Conservation Agriculture, small community-supported no-dig market gardening farms, mixed medium farms practising regenerative organic and/or Agroecology, livestock farms and pastoralists managing holistically, and many others).

The study will compare the data of pioneering agricultural plots with that of random plots over the last 3 years. It will compare three plots per farm, with randomised plots of the same pedoclimatic and land use category context.

In the following questions you will be asked

- to share general information about your contact and your farm

- to share detailed information about your three best plots in the last three years (location, inputs, yields, management history)

You will be asked all the information about one plot. And then about the other plots.

You will always be able to pause the Questionnaire and continue at a later point - just remember that you must come back to it on the same browser and device (and not in Incognito or Private browsing mode). Your answers will be kept safely in your browser's local storage, for 15 days. When you open the Questionaire again, you will be taken to the start of the form, but will see your existing answers from your last visit.

If you are unable to find all necessary information (marked by a *) in perfect quality, please don't worry. If you can make a good guess, that will already help us and all other farmers in Europe.

Whenever there is a question that isn't of relevance to your context, please feel free to move to the next question. We apologize, farm contexts in the EU are very diverse, our questions aspire to capture all that diversity of European farming families in a meaningful way.

Thank you again so much for making the effort! We know your time is your most valuable good. We cherish it deeply.
